Lymphatic Drainage

The Lymphatic System is our body’s “Clean-Up Crew.” Virtually every tissue in our body has lymphatic vessels that clear away waste and deposit fresh nutrients, keeping those tissues happy and healthy.
This ongoing process runs in tandem with our circulatory system, but lacks a primary pump organ like the heart, so it relies on movements of the body to run smoothly. The good news is, movement of lymph can be facilitated manually.
- support tissue health
- prepare body for change
- emotional/nervous support
Caring for the parts we plan to change can help prepare us both physically and emotionally for this exciting next step.
- speed healing
- decrease inflammation/swelling
- reduce scar tissue buildup
- increase mobility
During recovery, our body is working overtime to heal the injury, which means lots of extra inflammation, and a need for lots of extra nutrients to keep the process running smoothly.
The body continues to lay down scar tissue for up to 30 years post-injury, causing restrictions in movement (like a dam inhibiting the flow of a river).
No matter how long scar tissue has been around, it can be broken up and cleared away using a combination of MLD and fascial (connective tissue) manipulation, freeing and bringing new life to the area.
